They met in November of 2022—Hilary lived in Lexington, and Brandon in Louisville. The two decided to have their first "unofficial date" in Frankfort. Shortly after, Hilary invited Brandon to a Christmas play where she played Mrs. Santa Claus. That day, Brandon met around 100 of her family members. To her defense, Hilary had warned him about the crowd. In return, Brandon took her to Louisville to meet his family, which gave Hilary a heart attack of a lifetime. Over the next few days, they spent time together, meeting family and getting to know each other better, and since then, they haven’t spent more than a few days apart.

On December 20, 2022, Brandon officially asked Hilary to be his girlfriend by giving her one of his prized Black Panther medallions, one of his most cherished possessions. That same night, they went to see Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever, where they simultaneously told each other, "I love you." It was a moment full of sweetness and sincerity—pure cheesy magic.

Anyone who knows the couple would describe them as two halves of the same whole. When they’re together, neither of them can be taken seriously. They spend all day laughing, cracking jokes, and sending each other TikToks and Instagram reels. Often, they’ll walk to the other room to ask, “Did you watch that video I just sent you?” They are best friends who love each other unconditionally.

Despite their busy schedules, the couple has worked hard to blend their families. They regularly take Granny to church on Sundays, often sneaking in a quick five-minute nap during the service.
